Energy-efficient lighting firm comments on green investment survey

The Carbon Trust has revealed that energy efficient lighting topped its survey of green technology investments for businesses.

Over three-quarters of organisations (77%) polled by the Carbon Trust said they had invested in energy-efficient lighting in the past year. This was followed by employee training (59%) and energy metering and monitoring (57%). The survey also found, however, that 51% of businesses were not confident about manufacturers’ energy-efficiency claims.

Andy Chell, Sales and Marketing Manager of the commercial LED lighting firm, Greenlite, says: “Our experience as an independent lighting supplier means we know how important it is to be able to access unbiased information about energy-efficient technologies.”

He adds: “It is also really positive to see that 96% of businesses stated that energy efficiency was an important consideration when purchasing or upgrading equipment. This is an excellent indication that organisations understand the environmental and financial benefits of reducing their energy use.”
