Lighting maintenance services company highlights the link between lighting and work efficiency

Greenlite Lighting Maintenance, a commercial lighting services company, welcomes recent studies which demonstrate the link between office lighting and staff productivity.

Sales and Marketing Manager at Greenlite Andy Chell says: “Recent studies from the University of Illinois and Cornell University have shown that staff members who have access to natural daylight are happier and therefore more productive at work.”

He adds: “As experts in commercial lighting installation, we know that lighting is not just about energy savings; it’s about quality of life. Better lighting creates a better atmosphere for employees, as well as more chances to improve work efficiency.”

“We were especially interested to read the news that nurses who work near windows laugh more!” Andy notes. “Our experience in installing office and factory lighting has taught us that the happiest members of staff will also work the hardest.

“Lighting which mimics natural daylight can be used to create bright, airy spaces which will inspire greater staff productivity compared with areas where lighting has not been considered,” he adds. “When it comes to office and retail lighting, it’s just as important to think about the individuals using the spaces as it is to focus on energy efficiency.

“Better quality lighting means happier staff members and an improved atmosphere for all. It’s great to see that lighting is now on the agenda when it comes to creating healthier workspaces.”
