Greenlite Lighting Solutions, a commercial LED lighting company, has responded to comments from The Carbon Trust concerning the lack of customer confidence in finance schemes.
Andy Chell, Sales and Marketing Manager at the industrial lighting firm, says: “Our experience dealing with finance schemes has been similar to the experience of The Carbon Trust. Clients have expressed interest, but aren’t often willing to take action.”
He adds: “Often, we get the impression that clients are thinking, ‘What’s the catch?’ In reality, there isn’t one! Even finance schemes which offer a commercial rate of interest can show a good return on initial investment.”
“However, there is also the problem of inertia,” Andy notes. “There are many companies who try to sell their financial products without realising what the customer really wants. Retailers care more about light than they do about ‘lighting’! If energy efficient lighting providers can emphasise what their customers stand to gain in terms of increased sales, it’ll be easy to tackle the existing scepticism about finance schemes.”
